Understanding the Housing Choice Voucher Program - In-Person
Housing Choice Vouchers are a Part of Source of Income (SOI) Law and Thus Should be Seen as Opportunities to Help Families Find Their New Home.
This course will give a detailed overview of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8) that is used in all parts of the state to help families obtain affordable housing. Students will learn how the HCV program works from both the tenant & landlord perspective. Students will also learn how rent calculations are made and how to identify common inspection issues. Other topics include but are not limited to paperwork for tenants, landlords and unit approval. Through both lecture and interactive scenarios, students will finish the course understanding the HCV program.
